OK, Alfonso Soriano having a big year is not exactly news, but we all knew that he was pouting in the pre-season when it was announced he would be moving to the outfield for Washington. Many prognosticators advised us to downgrade him slightly as a result. 40-40 later, maybe that wasn't the greatest advice......

Ryan Howard showed us some glimpses of brilliance late last year, but no one in his right mind would have predicted a run at 60 homers. much less a great batting average and OBP.  Future Triple Crown winner?

Frank Thomas had given new meaning to his nickname "Big Hurt" over the last few years, but when Frank mounts a comeback, he apparently does it in style. Thomas probably came cheap in your league this year, and after a slow start should finish with 40+ homers.

Jermaine Dye had 31 homers last year for the Chisox, but Dye had type-cast himself as a solid, but not spectacular fantasy player over the last 7 or 8 years. His career highs of 33-119 came way back in 2000, so this year's 42-117 production at the tender age of 32 were a pleasant surprise.
