Green in December?

Where's the snow?!  Without this highly needed element, high school downhill and cross country ski teams have come to a halt.  Lately, practices consist of dry land training which is only good in moderation for these sports.  Let's start with the downhill ski team.  The team has had several meets canceled due to lack of snow.  Here it is late December and still nothing.  Our school (Honeoye Falls-Lima) happens to have two downhill, high school state champs, Skylar Sarkis and Kevin McNamara. These juniors are finding it hard to get into the sport this year.
The Nordic ski team has also run dry.  The team is led by Bob Gardner (ranked number one in the state) and John Dykes (ranked number two in the state).  These great athletes and their team has been reduced to running around the track and doing dry land training at a time they should be on their skis.
For ski teams all across the Northeast, let's hope for some of the white stuff.
