Could it get any worse for Wings?

Not only is staff ace Nick Blackburn on the DL, and not only have the Red Wings blown three-run leads and lost to Syracuse two two of the last three nights, and not only are they losing to the Chiefs again tonight — starter Ryan Mullins, fresh from Double-A, got shelled for nine runs in the first three innings — but I just got word that outfielder Darnell McDonald has been called up by the Twins.

McDonald, a speedy hitter whose recent arrival in Rochester bolstered a week offense, was hitting .306 with 24 doubles, 54 RBIs and 20 stolen bases at the Triple-A level this year. His presence could have had a steadying effect on an inconsistent, erratic lineup. Now that hope is gone.

Could it possible get any worse?
